GMS Choirs Present Mississippi Sings
The Grenada Middle School presented their newest show, “Mississippi Sings” to a full house at the GHS auditorium. The audience was welcomed by GMS Principal Mr. Lyle Williams and guest master of ceremonies Mr. Joe Lee. Raphael Semmes and Jerry Lyon, who had once played in a band together while teenagers, were reunited for this performance. The local talents of Shane Harbin on keyboard and Mark Campbell on drums were also utilized in the performance. Mr. Semmes, a native Grenadian, performed the song he wrote to promote Mississippi tourism, “Mississippi Feels Like Coming Home.”
The GMS Choirs performed at the MHSAA sanctioned district choral festival in Hernando recently where all three choirs scored Excellent in both the required songs as well as, the sight singing.
