Visions 2020

Members of Visions, Grenada High School's award-winning show choir, sang and danced their way to another grand championship recently. At the competition, held at Jackson Prepatory School, the group walked away with the titles of Overall Grand Champion, Best Show Design, Best Vocals, Best Visuals, and First Place Large Division Preliminary Champion. This past weekend, the group took their show on the road again to compete at the Jackson Academy Show Choir Invitational, but results were not available at press time.

This year's competition show, entitled The Story Behind the Smile, depicts the life and times of Leonardo DaVinci after the creation of the Mona Lisa. Falling in and out of love with both his woman and his art, DaVinci's story, as depicted in the show, is one of mixed emotions. Music by Billie Eilish, Ariana Grande, and Ed Sheeran, among others, expresses the romanticism and passion of the artist as he creates his most famous work.

Ian Cook, a senior at GHS portrays the famous painter in the showcase. Alexis Simco (the significant other) and Anna Hurd (Mona Lisa) characterize the important women causing DaVinci's conflict.
