Senior Prom Planning and ProjectsSenior Prom? Did someone say Senior Prom? It’s too early to think about the Prom, right? Wrong! It’s almost too late! With over 238 seniors in the class of 2012, plus their dates, planning and funding the Senior Prom is not a task for the faint of heart.
Senior sponsors and seniors on the Prom committee are in charge of the logistics of this large event. A theme must be chosen along with a menu and entertainment. Of course, an undertaking of this size requires quite a bit of funding.
Each year the Prom Committee brainstorms for fundraising ideas, and this year they decided on a new twist on an old affair – a community wide auction. The auction will be held in the GHS cafeteria at 6:30 pm on Monday, November 14, 2011. The seniors have been working hard gathering donations from various local and corporate sponsors and a wide range of items have been generously donated. Examples of the items available for auction include tickets to Disney World and autographs from Peyton Manning, Nick Saban, and Dan Mullen. Gift cards and items from local businesses will also be up for bid. Parents’ Night Out packages, a bottle tree, several gift baskets, and many other interesting surprises also grace the list of items on the auction block.
The live auction will feature Benji Britt as the guest auctioneer and door prizes that will be awarded all night. There’s something for everyone up for bid, so be sure to come join the Grenada High School Seniors for a night of fun and fundraising on November 14, 2011, at the GHS Cafeteria.
Tickets will be $5 at the door. For more information, please contact Alaina McQueen at 662-226-8844.
