Homecoming 2013

It’s that time of year again - FOOTBALL SEASON!  And believe it or not, Homecoming Week at the Grenada School District kicked off yesterday at Grenada High School with a tailgate breakfast in the parking lot for all the GHS students and faculty.  If you missed the breakfast yesterday, have no fear; a second chance is around the corner on Friday as parent volunteers step up and host yet another tailgate breakfast for the GHS student body.  The fun begins at approximately 7:00a.m., so don’t be late!

Homecoming Week offers a variety of events designed to increase school spirit and camaraderie between the students.  Dress-up days are student favorites.  These events offer a creative outlet and a chance to wear clothing outside the school’s dress code for a few days.  This year’s dress-up days at Grenada High School are:
Other scheduled activities during Homecoming Week include the Charger Olympics on Thursday morning and the annual Homecoming Pep Rally on Friday.  The Charger Olympics pits class against class and students against teachers in wacky games designed to test skill, endurance, and a plain old sense of humor!  The top three winning teams are awarded horseshoe medals in the traditional Olympic colors of gold, silver, and bronze, plus red-white-and-blue medals for the runners-up.

The Grenada High School Homecoming Court was elected by the student body at GHS.  Two maids are chosen from the Freshman, Sophomore, and Junior classes, while four maids are chosen from the Senior class.  The 2013 – 2014 Homecoming Queen, one of the Senior maids, will be announced at the festivities Friday night.  The Homecoming maids for 2013 -2014 are:
Grenada High School Homecoming festivities will take place during a pre-game ceremony on Friday, September 13, 2013.  Charger Stadium gates will open at 5:30p.m. The Homecoming Parade will wind around the stadium beginning at 6:20p.m. and the Homecoming Court will take the field at 6:30p.m. Kickoff against Kosciusko is slated for 7:00p.m.  Make plans to join your friends and family this Friday and become part of the tradition as Grenada takes on Kosciusko for Homecoming 2014!  Go Chargers!
