GHS Awards Programs 2013

Tis’ the season of awards at Grenada High School!  Three different awards programs took place last week.  These programs celebrated the accomplishments of students in classes ranging from academic to vocational.   Many students received awards in more than one area.

On Tuesday, GHS presented the Academic Awards.  Ninety-one students received recognition at this ceremony.  Faculty members, administrators, and friends and family  turned out in style to honor these hard-working teens.  After the awards ceremony, which took place in the GHS Auditorium, everyone enjoyed a light buffet in the Grenada High Cafeteria.

On Thursday, the Grenada Career and Technical Center honored the students who excelled in the classes offered at that GSD venue.  Students and faculty attended a breakfast and awards ceremony held in GCTC building.  GCTC faculty and administration attended this event recognizing thirty-six students.

On Friday, students in the Mississippi Occupational Diploma program were treated to a luncheon in the GHS library honoring those who excel in that area of education. This program is a graduation option at Grenada High School originally coordinated by Mrs. Diane Hervey, retired.  Cassandra Bridges-Williams is the present coordinator of this important program that teaches living and job skills.   Ten students received awards at this special event that also shows appreciation to the GHS employees and local businesses that allow these students to experience job training on a daily basis.

Grenada High School is proud of all its students.  We are exceptionally proud of the students who put forth the effort to excel during their time with us.  Congratulations to all the award winners!
