Homecoming Week 2015

Cheerleaders and young students with Charger mascot   It’s Homecoming week! Fall, football, and musical fun rank at the top of the list during this special time of year, and Grenada School District faculty, students, and parents face a hectic schedule of activities arranged in celebration.

Each year during Homecoming week, students dress up in themed costumes during specified days to promote school spirit and camaraderie. Dress up days this week began on Monday and will continue today and Friday. No dress-up days are scheduled for Wednesday or Thursday due to testing.

The spirit-rousing Charger Olympics happen Thursday during activity period. During this exciting event, six guys and girls from each grade level, plus a teacher team compete in wacky games designed to test their teamwork skills and agility. The games are physical, but how well each team works together can make or break them in this competition! Winners are awarded gold, silver, bronze, or theme-painted horseshoe medals in true Olympic spirit. We can’t wait to see which team - seniors, juniors, sophomores, freshmen, or teachers, will prevail this year!

Thursday evening, September 24, Grenada Middle School choirs, under the direction of Gale Dorroh, will present “Decades of Song and Dance” in the Grenada High School Auditorium.
