Homecoming Court 2012
The process of choosing a Homecoming Court is repeated each year at this time in most high schools. At GHS, the court is comprised of four seniors, two juniors, two sophomores, and two freshmen. Each class chooses maids from a slate of nominees. Individual classes (freshmen, sophomore, junior, and senior) nominate the candidates. All nominees must have a “C” average, verified by the school counselors.
On voting day, each class casts a ballot for maids from their class. The ballots are counted by the Homecoming Committee, consisting of teachers Laura Barfield, Karen Boone, and Lisa Wilbourn. The students with the highest number of votes are designated as class maids. The week of Homecoming, the entire school votes for Homecoming Queen from the four selected senior maids.
