Student are constantly immersed in activities that enable them to learn not only subject content, but also how to be a productive member of their classroom community.”
One parent shared the following, “ Mrs. Hammond sparked not only an interest in him to do and learn more, but, most importantly, she instilled in him a love of learning, which I believe and hope will continue throughout his education journey. I can honestly say that these two years with Mrs. Hammond have been pivotal in my son’s life.”
Pam Hammond states, “Teaching is such a rewarding profession. Being a looping teacher at GUES gives me the opportunity to teach the whole child and not just reading, writing, and math. I strive to teach my students to be responsible, make good choices, and set high goals for themselves. We are a family in my classroom, and we all respect each other. My classroom goals and philosophy are quite simple: I believe that if the students, the parents, and the teacher all work hard and do their best to make sure learning is taking place, then success will be achieved. The Grenada School District is a wonderful school system made up of outstanding, dedicated and hard-working teachers. I am truly honored and humbled to have been selected from this group as the GSD teacher of the year.”
